Endless Summer
Sandy mouths, burning feet, wet clothes, laughing till your tummy hurts. These are the childhood summer memories we hope to hold on to. This was the spirit I was trying to evoke while shooting this beautiful family at Kariotahi beach in Auckland. I approached this gorgeous, chaotic family photoshoot from a documentary perspective following the kids as they played and enjoyed every minute of their beach adventure. Along the way we styled a couple of more “posed” shoots that still felt natural and ‘them’. One of these images was later accepted for Photo-Vogue which was a wonderful bit of recognition. Personally I love these kind of family photoshoots, they feel so real, so natural and so unique to every family. x
