PARIS ATTACKS

I was living in Paris at the time of the November 2015 terror attacks that shook the world and my new home. Paris was clouded in a sense of disbelief, horror and shock that these attacks had happened and so many people had lost their lives. The Saturday after the attacks, the city was a ghost town, with no one on the street or in the metro and all the cafes that line the city’s vibrant streets were closed. It was a day of mourning, reflection, shock and grief. The next day however there was a gathering in Paris’s famous Place de la Republique, a place that symbolizes freedom and democracy. Here hundreds of people were gathered to pay their respects and support one another. It was an incredibly emotional and highly charged atmosphere. The photos I took still make me teary-eyed today.
